Botox Cosmetic & Dysport

Botox_Dysport_Xeomin

What are Botox and Dysport?
Botox and Dysport are two different types of neurotoxins available in our office. Neurotoxins are purified proteins that reduce muscle activity that cause moderate to severe wrinkles.

How are they used?
Botox & Dysport are used to temporarily relax the wrinkle-causing muscles of the forehead, around the corners of the eyes (crow’s feet) and between the eyebrows (frown lines). They will improve the appeareance of expression lines and wrinkles from muscle disuse and prevent new ones from forming.

What can I expect?
It only takes about 10 minutes – a few tiny injections – and within days there is a noticeable improvement. A tiny needle injects a very small amount of the neurotoxin precisely into several locations on the face. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is used, the pain associated with the injections is minimal. No sedation is required; however, some patients prefer that we use a local anesthetic to numb the skin prior to the injections. You can drive yourself home or back to work. Some patients experience a slight temporary bruising at the injection site which can usually be covered with make-up. There is no recovery or downtime.

How long do the effects last?
The results can last up to 3 months, but this depends on the patient and the severity of the wrinkle.

Restylane

Restylane logo

What is Restylane?
Restylane is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin. Restylane is the first cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance that already exists in the human body.

How is Restylane used?
Restylane is used to correct the moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the crease from each side of the nose to the corner of the mouth), the marionette lines (the crease from each corner of the mouth downward) and to produce a fullness in the upper and lower lips.

What can I expect?
Restylane requires no pretesting. A few precautions should be taken before being treated. Avoid using aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s Wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplements prior to treatment. These may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another recurrence. The most commonly reported side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection sites. These effects typically resolve within two to three days.

Restylane is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient, and results are practically instantaneous. To optimize your comfort during the short procedure, a topical anesthetic can be applied to the treatment area prior to receiving the injections.

How long do the effects last?
Studies have shown that the average treatment results last six months or even longer. Restylane lasts twice as long as collagen, so treatments are typically scheduled twice a year. Evidence shows that having a touch-up treatment before the product has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.

How long do the effects last?
Most areas of treatment will require 2 to 4 sessions, usually at 4 to 6 week intervals, for optimal correction. Depending on the area and condition treated, the volume of Sculptra used and the injection technique, the effects of a completed Sculptra treatment may last from 1 to 2 years plus.

CoolSculpting ~ Non-surgical, Fat Freezing Treatment

CoolSculpting Before and After Results

The CoolSculpting procedure eliminates stubborn fat safely and effectively, without surgery. This fat reduction treatment is the only FDA-cleared procedure to use controlled cooling to safely target and eliminate fat not responding to diet or exercise.

FREEZE AWAY FAT?
CoolSculpting employs Cryolipolysis, a patented method that uses carefully controlled cooling to reduce fat. This process does not harm the skin or other tissue and acts strictly on fat cells. Once the fat cells are treated, they are gradually eliminated through your body’s own metabolic processes, reducing the thickness of the fat layer.

YOU CAN RESHAPE YOUR BODY!
We will develop a customized CoolSculpting treatment plan that addresses your problem areas. Additional sessions may further enhance your results. Your individualized treatment plan will be tailored to your body, your goals, and your budget.

The CoolSculpting fat freezing procedure is completely non-surgical, so you can typically return to work and normal activities immediately.

Contact us today for your FREEze consultation!

Am I a good candidate?
Good candidates have noticeable bulges in certain areas they’d like to get rid of. The CoolSculpting fat reduction procedure is specifically designed for those who have unwanted fat that resists diet and exercise. Unlike gastric bypass surgery, the CoolSculpting procedure is not a weight loss solution for people who are obese. It is, however a non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Request a one-on-one consultation with us to determine if the CoolSculpting procedure is right for you.

How much does the CoolSculpting procedure cost?
The price for CoolSculpting procedures varies depending on your areas of concern, the number of sessions needed, and your ultimate goals. We will help create a customized treatment plan that’s tailored to your body, your goals, and your budget.

Where does the fat go? Are the results permanent?
In the weeks and months following your procedure, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they're gone for good.

When will I see results?
You may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after two months. But your body will still flush out fat cells and continues doing so for up to four to six months after treatment.

miraDry, Non-invasive Solution for Excessive Underarm Sweat

miraDry logo

What is the miraDry treatment?
miraDry is the only non-invasive, FDA cleared aesthetic treatment that safely removes underarm sweat and odor glands. It’s a quick in-office procedure that provides a permanent solution for underarm sweat.

Don't I need sweat glands?
Not in your armpits! You are born with approximately 2 million sweat glands throughout your body. Your underarms only contain about 2% of those glands. With miraDry you will experience the many benefits of stopping sweat in the underarm area, but you will continue to sweat elsewhere.

What is the procedure like?
Most patients describe the procedure as painless with little downtime. Local anesthesia is administered to the underarms prior to the treatment to assist in increasing comfort. Some patients describe the initial anesthetic injections as the most painful part of the procedure. There are no incisions or cuts. Treatment is customized to each underarm with multiple placements of the miraDry handpiece. An office visit appointment will generally last about one hour.

How does it work?
miraDry’s proprietary miraWave technology is the ideal wavelength for eliminating sweat and odor glands in the underarm. It non-invasively targets the area where the sweat glands reside and safely destroys them while simultaneously cooling your skin for added comfort.

What results can I expect?
You can expect immediate and lasting results - sweat glands don't come back after treatment. The amount of sweat reduction you desire should be discussed with your miraDry physician. Recent clinical information confirms an average of 82% sweat reduction in most patients. As with any aesthetic treatment results will vary by person.

How many treatments will I need?
You can see results in as little as one treatment. However, as with any aesthetic treatment, your physician will determine the best protocol for your expected results.

Is there any downtime?
Most patients experience minimal downtime and return to regular activity (like returning to work) immediately. Exercise is typically resumed within several days. You may experience swelling, numbness, bruising and sensitivity in the underarm area for several days post-treatment.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy image

What is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for the small or superficial leg veins. A saline-like solution is injected into the vein causing it to become irritated and collapse. The vein is then gradually absorbed by the body.

How is Sclerotherapy used?
Spider veins commonly occur in women and are primarily caused by genetics & hormones although obesity, trauma and prolonged sitting & standing can also play a role. Sclerotherapy is not recommended for anyone who has had previous blood clots in the legs or lungs.

What can I expect?
Patients report little discomfort from the tiny needle used to treat spider veins. Some people experience a slight to moderate burning sensation immediately after the injection, but this disappears within a few seconds. You should allow at least 2 weeks after treatment for the bruising to subside. Walking is essential but running, aerobics and exercises causing abdominal contractions should be avoided for one week after treatment.

How long do the effects last?
Usually 2 to 5 treatment sessions are required for optimal improvement. Most patients see lightening and/or disappearance of the majority of treated veins; however, you will most likely continue to get new tiny broken vessels over time.

TCA Medium-Depth Chemical Peel

What is a TCA Peel?
TCA Peels are intermediate depth chemical peels performed
by the physician. They are highly effective in promoting skin smoothness & vitality, improving superficial discoloration and eliminating fine wrinkles.

How are TCA Peels used?
TCA Peels are ideal for someone who wants more than a superficial peel to accomplish facial rejuvenation. This 15 to 30 minute procedure requires the application of trichloroacetic acid. When the desired depth has been achieved, the physician will neutralize the peel and advise post-procedure instructions.

What can I expect?
A burning sensation is felt as the TCA solutions is applied to the skin. This lasts about 2 to 10 minutes. Once the area has been neutralized, the discomfort subsides. Within a few days, the superficial layers of skin will turn dark, crack, flake and peel. Flaking is usually complete in 4 to 7 days. Once the old skin
has sloughed, new skin will be bright and flushed, fading slowly over several weeks. Although makeup can be applied once the peeling is finished, your appearance may preclude returning to public activities comfortably for up to 7 days.

How long do the effects last?
Intermediate depth peels will last 6 months to 2 years.
