Vascular Laser Therapy

What is Vascular Laser Therapy?
We use the Candela Perfecta VBeam laser that is a pulsed dye laser with advanced micro-pulse technology. The laser delivers an intense, gentle burst of yellow light to the skin that is absorbed by the blood vessels in the dermis. These blood vessels are coagulated and then reabsorbed by the body during the natural healing process.

When is Vascular Laser Therapy used?
The VBeam laser was designed to rid patients of benign vascular lesions such as facial veins, rosacea, angiomas, red birth marks, hemangiomas and other red-colored lesions.

What can I expect?
Laser therapy includes wearing safety eyewear while a small hand piece is applied to the treatment area by the laser nurse or physician. The VBeam laser protects the epidermis during treatment by spraying a cooling mist onto the skin before each laser pulse. Some patients may feel a slight discomfort associated with the laser pulse; however, most patients tolerate the procedure well. The Perfecta has different sized handpieces for treating various spot sizes and the patented dynamic cooling device helps eliminate patient downtime and bruising.

How often are treatments necessary?
The number of treatments necessary varies depending on the type lesion and size of the area being treated, as well as the patient’s response to the therapy.
